چکیده
Background and Objective: Crassocephalum bauchiense Hutch is a species of flowering plant from the Asteraceae family. It’s used in traditional medicine for treatment brain disorders including epilepsy, depression anxiety. This study evaluated anxiolytic effects aqueous extract its possible mechanism action. Materials Methods: The (25, 50, 100 200 mg/kg) were administered orally to mice one hour before behavioural testing. Elevated plus maze open field tests used, respectively detecting it properties. Immediately after test, animals sacrificed GABA content, activities GAD GABA-T measured. Results: (100 significantly increased number entries into, percentage time arms, reduced rearing, head dipping, closed elevated maze. crossing rearing defecation, test. In biochemical experiments, concentration activity increased; while was decreased, respectively, treated-mice. Conclusion: These results suggest that possess properties models employed. might potentially act by GABAergic activation central nervous system. data justify explain use treat anxiety empirically medicine.

BACKGROUND The emergence in recent years of numerous resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria to a range of formerly efficient antibiotics constitutes a serious threat to public health. Crassocephalum bauchiense, a medicinal herb found in the West Region of Cameroon is used to treat gastrointestinal infections as well as liver disorders. The ethyl acetate extract from the leaves of C. bauchiens...
متن کاملAnxiolytic-like effects of phytol: Possible involvement of GABAergic transmission
Phytol, a branched chain unsaturated alcohol, is particularly interesting because it is an isolated compound from essential oils of different medicinal plants. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anxiolytic-like effects of phytol in animal models to clarify their possible action mechanism. After acute intraperitoneal treatment with phytol at doses of 25, 50 and 75 mg/kg behavioral models ...

A phytochemical investigation of the whole plant of Crassocephalum bauchiense Huch. resulted in the isolation of a new clerodane diterpenoid, ent-2β,18,19-trihydroxycleroda-3,13-dien-16,15-olide (1), together with two known flavonoids 3',5-dihydroxy-4',5',6,7,8-pentamethoxyflavone (2) and 4',5-dihydroxy-3',5',6,7,8-pentamethoxyflavone (3). The compounds were tested against the chloroquine-sensi...
